Reward Programme for Performing Housing Loan Borrowers

The Bank of Cyprus Public Company Ltd (the "Bank") proceeds with the implementation of its commitment to provide practical support to its housing loans performing borrowers (the ‘’Borrowers’’).

In recognition of their needs, the Bank implements the Programme for Performing Housing Loan Borrowers (the "Programme") through the "antamivi" scheme, in order to unburden them in times when the cost of living is high.

More information

  • The Bank rewards the borrowers of housing loans with a variable interest rate based on the European Central Bank Base Rate (ECB Base Rate) or the EURIBOR rate, for loans granted prior to 30 September 2022 based on the criteria mentioned below.

  • All holders of housing loans with the following characteristics are participating in the Programme: 

    • loans granted prior to 30 September 2022,
    • loans priced at a variable interest rate referencing the ECB Base Rate or EURIBOR as of 30 June 2023,
    • secured with primary residence mortgage with an open market value (OMV) up to 350 thousand euro, according to the Bank's own records as of 30 June 2023,
    • the said loans were performing as of 30 June 2023.
  • In addition to the above cited eligibility criteria, the following conditions must have been met: 

    • all facilities of the Borrower(s) must have been performing in accordance with the repayment schedule, without presenting any arrears from 30 June 2023 to 31 December 2023,
    • Borrower(s) should not have benefited from any other special arrangement relating to any of their facilities from 30 September 2022 up to 31 December 2023.

    Borrowers who failed to meet any of the conditions and criteria outlined above are excluded from the Programme.

  • The reward is provided to the Beneficiaries in the form of  "antamivi" points as part of the Bank’s Card Reward antamivi Scheme (the “Scheme”).

    The Beneficiaries will receive the ratio of 25 thousand points per 100 thousand euro on the average balance of their housing loan over the 6-month period from 30 June 2023 to 31 December 2023 (corresponding monetary value of €250), provided that the criteria for participation in the Programme as mentioned in points 2 and 3 above have been met.

    Example

    A holder of a housing loan: 

    • granted prior to September 2022,
    • secured by mortgage on primary residence valued at 350 thousand euro,
    • with a balance of 95 thousand euro as of 30 June 2023 and a balance of 85 thousand euro on 31 December 2023 (average balance: 90 thousand euro),

    will receive 22,5 thousand "antamivi" points, worth 225 euro, redeemable at any merchant participating in the 'antamivi' scheme.

    There are more than 280 merchants in the "antamivi" scheme from various sectors, such as clothing, restaurants, bakeries, supermarkets, electronics, DIY stores, petrol stations, airlines, hotels and so on.

  • The "antamivi" points are automatically credited to the Borrower’s "antamivi" account, provided that the criteria for participation in the Programme as mentioned in points 2 and 3 above have been met.

    Bank of Cyprus cardholders are not required to take further actions for the "antamivi" points to be rewarded. 

    If a Borrower does not hold a Bank’s card can apply for a debit card under the option "Quick Hub" through Internet Banking or through BoC Mobile App. The corresponding card annual membership fees will be returned.

  • All Borrowers have been informed by letter or SMS.
