Euromoney, the internationally reputable magazine, has named Bank of Cyprus “The Best Bank in Cyprus for 2015.”

The best bank award is presented to banks which stand out for their dynamic profile on global and local markets and which distinguish themselves from their competitors.

The best bank is selected following rigorous analysis of each bank’s quantitative and qualitative metrics.

In addition, John P. Hourican, Group Chief Executive officer of Bank of Cyprus, was named Banker of the Year.

“John’s task when he became CEO was to restore the bank after the wholesale collapse of the Cypriot banking system, the imposition of capital controls and the bail-in of depositors,” Euromoney said.

Receiving the award, Mr. Hourican said: “These awards honour the extraordinary efforts of the wider management team, and all the employees of Bank of Cyprus, in stabilising Cyprus’ leading financial services group.”

 

2012

Global Finance” has named the Custody Department of Bank of           Cyprus as the best sub-custodian in Cyprus

 

The international financial magazine “Global Finance” has named the Custody Department of Bank of Cyprus as the best sub-custodian in Cyprus.  This new international recognition awarded to the Bank of Cyprus is in the context of “World’s Best Sub-Custodian Banks awards 2012”, organized by the internationally acclaimed financial magazine.

The selection of the sub-custodian was based on certain criteria such as financial and other data obtained from the Custody Departments operating in Cyprus as well as Clients’ feedback.

This award acknowledges the high quality of the custodian services provided to the clients of the Bank of Cyprus.  The Custody Department of the Bank of Cyprus offers the full spectrum of custodian services for investments in the Cyprus, Greek and foreign markets. Services offered include settlement of transactions, safe-keeping of titles, monitoring and processing of corporate actions, proxy voting in general meetings, collection of dividends and interest coupons, withholding taxation at source and tax reclamations for taxation withheld.  Furthermore, the Department provides custodian and other specialized services for International Collective Investments Schemes (ICIS).

In obtaining this award, Bank of Cyprus has once again achieved international recognition through the continuing provision of high quality services to its clients.

The international financial magazine ‘Global Finance’ has named the Bank of Cyprus the best banking institution in Cyprus in the Developed Markets category of “World’s Best Banks Awards”. The new international accolade for the Bank was part of the annual “World’s Best Banks Awards 2012,’ which is organized by the prestigious international financial magazine. Winners of this year’s awards were banks that succeeded in responding to their customers’ needs in competitive markets, achieving enhanced results and setting the groundwork for future successes.

The selection of the best banking institutions from 27 countries was made by the editors of ‘Global Finance,’ in close collaboration with a group of bankers, corporate financial analysts and other executives of the international financial sector. They examined a number of objective criteria such as the rate of assets growth, profitability, geographic reach, establishment of strategic relationships, new business development, and the design and offering of innovative banking products and services.

With this award, the Bank of Cyprus has achieved one more international accolade which recognizes the correctness of its strategic directions.

 

Best bank in Cyprus for private banking

 Bank of Cyprus has been named best bank in Cyprus in the private banking sector by the internationally renowned journal Euromoney.

Euromoney ranked Bank of Cyprus Private Banking first among Cypriot, Greek and other international financial institutions operating in Cyprus in the private banking sector. This is yet another major international distinction which confirms the successful path taken by the Bank of Cyprus Group, placing it among the world’s top financial institutions offering private banking services.

This award confirms, yet again, the high quality of the services provided to customers who have placed their trust in Bank of Cyprus Private Banking. It also demonstrates the success of the strategy adopted by the Bank in offering its customers bespoke and integrated products and services in the field of total wealth management (through banking and investment services and fund management).

Recognition by Euromoney is even more significant given the current climate in the international financial sector, since it confirms both the ability of Bank of Cyprus to successfully respond to the demands of present-day competition and the trust placed in it by its customers.  

 

2011

Best Bank in Cyprus-Awards for Excellence

The international financial journal Euromoney has named Bank of Cyprus as Best Bank in Cyprus in its annual ‘Awards for Excellence 2011’. It is worth noting that this is the second consecutive year Bank of Cyprus is receiving this award.

The ‘Awards for Excellence’ are organised each year by the acclaimed international journal Euromoney, with the aim of highlighting excellence in the banking sector in 110 different countries across the world. The Awards recognise organisations that play a leading role and demonstrate innovation and outstanding performance in the markets where they operate.

The Bank of Cyprus, having met the above criteria, was named as Best Bank in Cyprus for the second consecutive year.

In the latest issue of the journal in which the banking organisations awarded with the distinction ‘Awards for Excellence 2011’ were announced,  reference is made, among other things, to the financial results achieved by Bank of Cyprus, emphasising the innovative issue of Convertible Enhanced Capital Securities successfully completed by the Group in 2011, and describing it as ‘one of the most significant capital strengthening actions of the year in international financial markets’.

In the context of its Annual Banker Awards 2011, the internationally renowned financial magazine The Banker”  awarded Bank of Cyprus as the “Bank of the Year 2011” in Cyprus.

For a 12th consecutive year, the Annual Banker Awards institution assesses and rewards the best banks in 147 countries based on their performance over the past year. The Awards Committee examines and assesses the participants’ financial data, such as profitability and the growth and return of assets and capital. Furthermore, the Committee looks into the participants’ activity in applying new technologies and innovation for developing their operations.

The award is yet another international recognition of the Bank of Cyprus Group’s strategy.

The criteria for the selection in every country included the trade volume, the share in the domestic market, the range of services offered worldwide, the quality of service provided, the degree of competitiveness of charges and the use of innovative technologies.

2010 USD Straight-Through Processing (STP) Excellence Award by Deutsche Bank

The international financial institution Deutsche Bank has awarded Bank of Cyprus the 2010 USD and EUR Straight-Through Processing (STP) Excellence Award. 

This recognition is only given to banks which cooperate internationally with Deutsche Bank and display the highest level of quality in executing payment transactions in U.S. dollars and Euro. 

Bank of Cyprus aims to continue its efforts to improve the rate of international payments which are automatically transmitted (straight through processing) to correspondents, as well as the overall service it provides to its customers.

This distinction is a success for Bank of Cyprus, as it confirms the high performance level of its staff, and its commitment to customer service.

Morgan Chase Quality Recognition Award

In 2010, Bank of Cyprus received the “Morgan Chase Quality Recognition Award”, for the tenth consecutive year.

The award is granted to banking institutions for their excellence in payment efficiency rates in US dollars. JP Morgan awards the “Morgan Chase Quality Recognition Award” annually to financial institutions which it cooperates with and which excel in payment efficiency rates

BoC’s aims to constantly upgrade the international payment percentage of straight through processing to recipients, in this case, JP Morgan, as well as the servicing of BoC’s customers.

This distinction is yet another success for the BoC Group, proving the high level of performance of its human resources and its commitment in customer service.

International Award from “The Banker” magazine

The Banker magazine awarded Bank of Cyprus with the Best Bank of the Year in Cyprus for 2009 award. The objective of the Awards, which the magazine co-organises with the accredited english organisation UK Trade and Investment, is the selection and honoring of the best banking institutions in 144 countries.

The meticulous evaluation of the Awards committee takes into consideration the financial data, the innovative initiatives and the general strategy of the participants.

 

2009 USD Straight-Through Processing (STP) Excellence Award by Deutsche Bank

Deutsche Bank has awarded Bank of Cyprus with the 2009 USD Straight-Through Processing (STP) Excellence Award.

This award is granted to banking institutions for their excellence in payment efficiency rates in US dollars. Deutsche Bank awards the STP Award annually to financial institutions which it cooperates with and which excel in payment efficiency rates.

BoC’s aims to constantly upgrade the international payment percentage of straight through processing to recipients, and in this case, Deutsche Bank.

The Cyprus Employers & Industrialists Federation (ΟΕΒ) awards Bank of Cyprus

2009 OEB

Bank of Cyprus was selected as the Best Enterprise in the category of Financial Services and the Best Enterprise in Cyprus for 2010.

The process for awarding the Best Enterprise Award included the use of a scientific model which evaluates the performance of organisations in the area of reputation and brand recognition, and economic, administrative and social indicators.

The scientific model used was co-developed by the Cyprus Employers & Industrialists Federation (OEB) and the Advisory Group of Cypronet-work, which also had the responsibility of the evaluation. The model involved market researches amongst the public, enterprises and opinion leaders, as well as actual data (profitability, technological, researching and social activity, growth of new services etc) provided by the organisations which were singled out by the market researches.

An important element that derives from the process is the creation of a useful benchmark tool that can be utilised by the organisations.
